Cortex does two jobs. It keeps the Helixer stack installed and current across every cluster, and it runs your own applications on the same managed infrastructure, close to where the data lives.

Automated stack lifecycle.
Cortex installs, upgrades, monitors, and rolls back every Helixer component (Synapse, Nexus, Lens, Mira, and Soma) across edge nodes, regional clusters, and the control plane. Each component runs from a desired-state declaration pinned to a version, so the running system matches what you declared and a failed change rolls back to the last good state. Every site runs the version you set and stays there.
02 // APP ENGINE
Cortex App Engine.
Run your own, partner, and third-party apps on the same managed runtime, deployed close to your machinery. Each app gets a Soma identity and direct, low-latency access to the Synapse and Nexus APIs, so it reads and writes operational data with no separate infrastructure to stand up.
Lifecycle is included. Apps are the add-on.
Cortex lifecycle management comes with every paid Helixer OS subscription, at no added cost. The only paid piece is App Engine, sized by the compute your apps actually use, with unlimited apps and placements in every environment.
Included Orchestration
Installs, upgrades, monitoring, cross-cluster health, and rollback come with every paid Helixer OS subscription. There is no extra licensing and no per-component fee. Every active deployment is managed by default.
App Engine environments
App Engine is priced per runtime instance. Pick shared, burstable instances (Nano to S2) for light connectors, webhooks, and bridge services, or dedicated vCPU and memory (S4 and up) for sustained edge workloads. Resize or add instances to scale, and run unlimited apps and placements inside the environment. From €4,800 per year self-hosted, or from €105 per year per instance on SaaS.
