02 // product: nexus

The universal translator for industrial infrastructure

High-performance edge connectivity, from PLCs to cloud APIs, with the drivers built in.

Nexus runs close to your equipment and speaks its protocols natively, from PLCs and field devices to enterprise APIs and cloud services. It reads each source, turns the raw values into your canonical model, and delivers them to Synapse with full context, or to other systems you point it at. A durable on-disk buffer holds readings locally and acknowledges each one only after it is safely stored, so an uplink that drops for hours catches up on reconnect with nothing lost.

[ connectivity ]

One component between your equipment and everything else

Nexus extracts data from the systems you already run, normalizes it, and lands it where it needs to go. It connects through drivers built and tested in-house, so there is no custom adapter to write per device. It runs at a single site or across a fleet of remote ones, and it works with Synapse or on its own.

01 // CONNECT

Talks to anything.

Connect to PLCs, controllers, brokers, APIs, and cloud services over the protocols they already use. The base runtime speaks OPC UA, Modbus TCP, MQTT with Sparkplug B, and REST. Protocol Packs extend it to Siemens S7, EtherNet/IP, and OPC DA on the OT side; IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5, DNP3, and BACnet for utilities and buildings; and object storage, file transfer, Kafka, and batch on the enterprise side. One component reaches all of it.

02 // EDGE

Built for the edge fleet.

Nexus runs at your remote sites and stays useful when the link to the center goes down. A durable on-disk buffer holds every reading locally and drains on reconnect, so hours of lost connectivity cost you nothing. Configuration flows out from one Primary to every Edge, status flows back, and sites keep running on their own in between. You operate the whole fleet from one place.

03 // CONTEXT

The on-ramp to your namespace.

Raw industrial data arrives in whatever shape the device emits. Nexus turns it into your canonical model, a Metric or an Event that fits your namespace, and enriches it with reference data you load once and reuse. By the time a reading reaches Synapse, it already knows what it is and where it belongs. This is the bridge from raw signals to a Unified Namespace.

04 // OPEN

Runs with or without Synapse.

Synapse is the natural destination, and Nexus stands on its own when you need it to. It moves data in both directions and delivers to destinations beyond Synapse: HTTP APIs, brokers, databases, and object storage. Point a source at a sink and Nexus is a complete connectivity layer, whether or not the rest of Helixer OS is in the picture.

Access control built in

ABAC down to the individual source, with separate identity for operators and for the connections drivers make to your systems.

Finds your data for you

Nexus browses and indexes a source, so you select the tags you want instead of hand-entering every one.

Reference data, joined in

Load lookup tables once and enrich readings with them at the point of ingest.

Observable out of the box

Prometheus and OpenTelemetry exporters, plus live status for every driver and connection.
[ pricing ]

Priced per runtime. Not per signal.

One Nexus environment is one flat annual fee, with unlimited tags and no metering on signals, messages, or throughput. Start with the base runtime, then switch on the Protocol Packs your sites need. You pay for the connectivity you run.

Two ways to run it

Self-hosted

from

€1,200

per year per instance

Run the connectivity core on your own infrastructure. Capacity scales with the hardware you provision.

Managed SaaS

from

€2,700

per year per instance

Hosted and operated by Helixer. Pick an instance type sized to your workload with HA, replicas, and DR fully included in the price.

Included core features

The runtime, ABAC access control, unlimited tags, OPC UA (client and server), Modbus TCP, MQTT, Sparkplug pub/sub, REST, inbound webhooks, payload transformations, and native publish to Synapse.

Protocol packs

Each pack attaches to one environment at a flat annual rate. Turn on the families your equipment needs and leave the rest off.

On SaaS, the same packs attach to an instance at the same annual rates.

OT Protocols pack

from

€900

per year per environment

Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU over TCP, OPC DA, the Sparkplug B host application, and further PLC and SCADA drivers.

Utility Protocols pack

from

€1,200

per year per environment

IEC 61850 (MMS and GOOSE), IEC 60870-5-104 and 101, DNP3, BACnet, and further utility and legacy protocols.

Data Exchange pack

from

€900

per year per environment

S3-compatible object storage, Azure Blob and ADLS, Google Cloud Storage, FTP/SFTP, SMB, file drops, Google Sheets, Kafka, and scheduled batch import and export.

Resilience pack (Self-hosted)

from

€1,200

per year per environment

One pack covers HA, standby, and DR with unlimited replicas. Replica count is a design decision, not a licensing one. Managed SaaS already includes HA, replicas, and DR.
